Cynthia Momsen has 13 years of experience in the mental health field. She works with our Outpatient/ Community Mental Health services at Nexus-Gerard Family Healing, supporting children, adolescents and adults with severe emotional and behavioral disorders.

Education/Experience: Cynthia graduated with a Bachelors of Arts in Psychology from the University of San Francisco in 1983 and from Winona State University with a Masters of Science in Community Counseling in 2007. She has worked at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN, in the Department of Child and Adolescent Psychology/Psychiatry providing individual, group, and family therapy, psycho-education, and diagnostic assessments in two intensive outpatient programs focused on depression, anxiety, and mood disorders, and co-facilitating an outpatient depression group for teens and their parents.

Specialties: Cynthia is trained in TF-CBT and EMDR and has provided therapeutic services to children and adults across the life span, with clients from six to 98 years old. Her focus is working with clients with anxiety, anger, depression, trauma, and attachment issues.
