To our parents, partners, and community members,
Your safety and the safety of our clients and employees are of paramount concern. As such, we want you to know that Nexus Family Healing has been taking the necessary precautionary measures to mitigate the risks associated with COVID-19 (coronavirus). We are continually monitoring the developments of the coronavirus and have implemented the recommended guidelines from Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
Our agencies remain open. However, our procedures are being continually modified, including visitation guidelines, to accommodate the current situation and most recent state and government guidelines. Nexus Family Healing agency employees are considered essential works. Therefore, as vaccines are available, employees are able to be vaccinated.
OUTPATIENT/COMMUNITY MENTAL HEALTH SERVICES
Our outpatient clinics are performing telehealth services, allowing clients the ability to continue to receive care via videoconferencing or over the phone from the comfort of their own home. This service is available for both existing and new clients. If you are a current client and prefer in-person sessions, you will be asked to complete a visitor screening questionnaire. If it is determined there is a chance of a health risk to others, the session will be cancelled or moved to telehealth.

RESIDENTIAL TREATMENT SERVICES
We are monitoring the CDC and individual state department of health guidelines on a daily basis to ensure we are following the most current recommended preventive measures and helping to stop the spread of this disease. Below are specific actions we have taken to protect our clients in residential treatment facilities:
- We have implemented Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) protocols for the care of clients in a congregate care setting including frequent, thorough cleaning of the program facilities and common areas as well as a disciplined approach to hand hygiene and increased availability of hand sanitizer.
- We are teaching our youth about hand washing and social distancing and encouraging outdoor activities as the weather improves.
- Our visitation policies continue to change as we follow the state and CDC guidelines related to re-opening. Please check with your Nexus residential agency to receive the latest visitation guidelines.
- We are conducting regular temperature checks for both youth and staff to identify early detection of fever.
- Our team has identified and is actively sourcing personal protective equipment (PPE) to ensure its availability for use as needed now or in the future. Our staff is following CDC recommended guidelines, wearing masks to reduce the possibility of transmission of the disease from staff to youth.
- We are regularly training our staff on new protocols and practices, as recommendations for prevention continue to change. Additionally, we have developed and trained our staff for the potential of an outbreak.
FOSTER CARE AND ADOPTION
Agency-supervised in-person visitations for foster care between parents and children in foster care and all sibling visitations vary by location based on state mandated guidelines. Please call the agency where your child is placed to confirm most recent visitation guidelines.
