Hennepin County Youth Stabilization Center is a new services for youth with complex behavioral needs who are boarding in hospitals, detention centers, or other settings with a need for stabilization. With 13 beds, our goal is to provide stabilization for youth who are returning back to their community or are waiting for appropriate long-term solutions.
We serve youth with complex behavioral health needs. Youth must be referred through a Case Manager to the Hennepin County Screening Team and must screen positive for a mental health crisis.
With 13 beds the Hennepin Youth Stabilization Center provides a family and youth-centered approach to service. We provide 24/7 intensive staffing in a secured facility, where youth receive culturally responsive, family-centered, and trauma-informed care.
Upon arrival each youth receives a crisis assessment, treatment, care coordination and transition planning. The center is designed for stays of 30 days or less. While in our care, Nexus will partner with families, case workers, and key stakeholders to provide an individualized array of services including onsite education, individual, family, and expressive therapy, daily programming, and recreation services.
