Hennepin County Youth Stabilization Center is a new services for youth ages 8-17 with complex behavioral needs who are boarding in hospitals or detention centers with no immediate options for treatment. With 13 beds, our goal is to provide stabilization for youth and families who are waiting for appropriate longer-term solutions.
We serve youth ages 8-17 with complex behavioral health needs. Youth must be referred through a Case Manager on the Hennepin County Screening Team and must screen positive for a mental health crisis.
With 13 beds the Hennepin Youth Stabilization Center provides a family and youth-centered approach to service. We provide 24/7 intensive staffing in a locked facility, where youth received culturally responsive, trauma-informed care.
Upon arrival each youth receives a crisis assessment, treatment, care coordination and transition planning. They can stay in our care for30-45 days. While in our care they will receive onsite education, individual and family counseling, daily programming, and recreation services.
