Foster Care & Adoption
Supporting children, youth, and families through foster care, transition, and adoption services. Programs vary by state.

When family systems break down or a crisis occurs, we’re here to help. We work tirelessly to make sure every child is cared for in a safe and secure home—whether they need short-term care while a family is in transition or a permanent place to call their own.
Because every child deserves to feel known, cared for and valued.
Our foster families are well-trained and fully supported by our professional team of social workers and therapists. And our adoptive families realize their dream of becoming parents—while giving children the nurturing family they need.

Available in Minnesota only
Relative and kinship services
Designed for families who are caring for a relative’s child and need support and education. Families can also receive help with obtaining foster care licensing if they desire to continue fostering kin or other children.
Adoption services
When reuniting a family isn’t possible, we provide adoption services that result in a safe, stable home. We help kids, including older children and sibling groups, find a loving family.

“It’s all about the village. We wouldn’t have been able to do this is it hadn’t been for Nexus’ support.” – Anne, Foster/Adoptive Parent

8 Reasons to Foster Teens
A common misconception of teenagers in foster care is they did something bad or wrong to end up there, but many teens end up in foster care at no fault of their own. Just like any other age group, teens in foster care want a secure, loving family.
Adoption Necessities
