Finding Strength Through Healing

Authored by Nexus Family Healing on December 16, 2025

When Virginia first came to Nexus Family Healing’s outpatient program in Austin, MN, she was facing one of the most difficult chapters of her life. At 53, she had just experienced the unexpected end of a long-term marriage. The emotional toll of the divorce, compounded by her diagnoses of ADHD and anxiety disorder, left her feeling overwhelmed and disconnected from the life she once knew.

Virginia’s anxiety affected every part of her daily functioning. She struggled with sleep, lost interest in activities she once enjoyed, and found it increasingly difficult to manage her thoughts and emotions. Her relationship, especially with her daughter, was strained, and her sense of self was fading. Her physical health began to decline as well, with a childhood back injury flaring up and complications of diabetes further limiting her ability to enjoy life.
