How Do I Ask My Family About My Uncle's Passing?

Authored by Dr. Michelle Murray on September 20, 2022
When I was young, my uncle died. I was too young to understand but I’m pretty sure he died by suicide. Which I’d like to know more about but I don’t know how to ask because my family doesn’t talk about it at all. How can I broach the subject? And do these tendencies run in families?

How Do I Help My Daughter With Her Hygiene Habits When She Doesn't Live With Us?

Authored by Dr. Michelle Murray on August 30, 2022
I just read an article on lack of hygiene with an adopted child who has now returned home. I am having trouble with my adopted 22-year-old and her lack of care. She smells, wears dirty stained clothes, and doesn't brush her teeth or hair. However, she doesn't live with us so I can't control some of the things that would make this better. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
