My 18-year-old is heading off to college for the first time and I'm a wreck! I'm happy for her and yet I can't stop all the worries in my head. And I'm really sad she's leaving. It's supposed to be a happy time but I'm feeling so lost. How do I get on board with sending her off to college?

Some days feel full of doom and gloom, others are full of light and humor. As soon as we get used to what we think will become the “norm,” he reminds us that there is still a lot that he is silently dealing with. I have yet to find “normal” as a foster parent.

I just read an article on lack of hygiene with an adopted child who has now returned home. I am having trouble with my adopted 22-year-old and her lack of care. She smells, wears dirty stained clothes, and doesn't brush her teeth or hair. However, she doesn't live with us so I can't control some of the things that would make this better. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

My mother passed away last year and since then the relationships with my siblings have been strained. We have squabbled over the smallest of possessions even though we are all adults. Gatherings that used to be fun now make me anxious. Is this still grief over a year later? How do we get back to how things were?

My 3-year-old granddaughter lives with her mom across state lines. She has been taken away from her for a 2nd time and now my granddaughter lives with a foster family.
