safeTALK Suicide Prevention Training

Suicide is preventable. Anyone can make a difference.
Nexus Family Healing is offering a safeTALK Suicide Prevention training, presented by LivingWorks. LivingWorks is an organization with more than twenty years of experience in developing effective suicide prevention programs.
This free, 4-hour training is for anyone 15 years of age or older. You will learn a 4-step process using the acronym TALK (Tell, Ask, Listen, KeepSafe) to identify and engage individuals talking about suicide and how to connect them to further help and care. It will prepare you to raise and respond to concerns about suicide in relationships with family, friends, and co-workers. Light refreshments will be provided.

Presenter: Jaime Swift
Jaime Swift, LICSW is the Clinical Director at the Southeast Regional Crisis Center. Jaime obtained her master’s degree in social work from the University of Minnesota in 2012. Since then Jaime has worked in various roles in mental health services including: Infant and Early Childhood mental health, psychotherapy services for both in-home and outpatient settings for individuals and family systems, those who are incarcerated, and most recently in crisis mental health care. Jaime has been part of opening two separate programs within Nexus Family Healing. Jaime is the mom to one child (age 22), two cats, one dog, and numerous fish. For self-care and balance Jaime enjoys gardening, crocheting, CrossFit, yoga, and learning how to play bass and vocals in a band.
