
Host Homes in North Dakota
A safe, supportive environment to build skills for independence
Host homes are family-style living arrangements for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. An individual lives with a caring provider in their community surrounded by a circle of support, provided by Nexus Family Healing, instead of living in a group home or institution.
This is a voluntary program designed to help individuals return to their home when possible while continuing to receive help and mentorship from their host home provider
Support payments and benefits are taxable.

Ensuring quality care
Host Homes in North Dakota follow state rules under ND Administrative Code and ND Century Code.
This means:
- Providers are licensed with specialized training
- Homes are safe and inspected regularly
- Individuals have personalized support plans
- Providers receive ongoing training and support
- 24/7 help is available for emergencies

An individual lives with a caring provider in their community surrounded by a circle of support, provided by Nexus Family Healing, instead of living in a group home or institution. This is a voluntary program designed to help individuals return to their home when possible while continuing to receive help and mentorship from their Host Home provider. We are currently seeking homes that are located in Bismarck, Fargo or within 60 miles of either city.

We carefully match each individual with a host home provider that can meet their needs. This helps create stability and a positive experience for both the individual and the provider. The program provides:
